    POKIE PETITION

     "We, the undersigned, ask that the Victorian State Government fund a structure that provides real paying gigs for musicians. The funding for this structure should come from a proportion of the revenue that the State Government receives from poker machines.

    Musicians as a group have suffered a devastating loss of employment opportunities due to the introduction of poker machines, particularly in hotels. This has also consequently caused a major loss of cultural amenity by the citizens of Victoria.

    Since this huge negative economic and cultural impact was caused by the introduction of poker machines it is entirely appropriate that State Government fund this structure from a proportion of poker machine revenue."
