The Musicians' Union of Australia is the statutory authority responsible for maintaining musicians' awards. The MUA works to ensure that terms and conditions of musicians' employment are met. It also represents a wide range of music industry interests for musicians.

MUA's members come from all walks of life. They include superstars, full and part time musicians and students, performing all styles of music, from blues, classical, country and western, to jazz, pop, reggae, rock and theatre.
