Overseas musicians who wish to perform in Australia must obtain an
"Entertainment Visa (Subclass 420)".
Information about this visa is available from the Australian "Department of Immigration and Citizenship" at the following link: "www.immi.gov.au/skilled/specialist-entry/420/". Part of the application process for this visa is consulting with the relevant union which for musicians is the Musicians' Union of Australia. The Musicians' Union of Australia has a "Federal Imports Office" which deals with Entertainment Visa consultations. The basic requirements needed by the Musicians' Union of Australia for the processing of Entertainment Visa Applications by overseas musicians wishing to play in Australia can be viewed or downloaded here.
