Venues are being forced to hire security guards whenever they provide live music. The cost of this is leading to many venues simply cancelling music. |
| The reason this is happening is that the State Government's liquor licensing authority has indiscriminately slapped security requirements on venues whenever they provide live music. This has been going on for a long time and is only now being noticed since general enforcement of licence requirements has tightened up in the wake of understandable concerns about alcohol related violence. |
